The last few weeks have underscored the critical importance of untold stories from the lives of Black American women. On July 16th, IWF-DC sisters met in a safe space via Zoom to share real stories with the goal of providing insights and deeper understanding in order to build stronger, more authentic ties with one another and strengthen their ability to lead in the 21st Century.   • Andrea Roane, retired Anchor & Medical Reporter, WUSA9: Andrea has been the recipient of many local and national awards for excellence in journalism during her 37-year career at WUSA9, including multiple EMMY and Gracie Awards and the 2015 National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences Board of Governors Award.

She is also a Past President of the National Bar Association, the nation's oldest and largest national network of predominantly African-American attorneys and judges.
