Covid-19 Updates: Readiness, Research and Vaccines

Our Zooming Through the Covid Crisis series returned with a special briefing on healthcare system readiness as Covid infections surge locally and globally, research and innovations since the spring, and the development of therapeutics and vaccines to contain and end the pandemic. Dr. Sandra Swain, an oncologist, clinical researcher, and professor of medicine, updated us on the impact of the second wave of the pandemic on medical systems and research, healthcare providers, and the state of preventive care and what to expect in the third wave.

She was joined by Dr. Rose Blackburne, an expert in women's health and executive medical director for a leading global contract research organization providing comprehensive, integrated drug development, laboratory and lifecycle management services. Dr. Blackburne updated us on the research and approval process for therapeutics and vaccines and what we can expect in 2021.
