Faye Coleman - Marquis Who's Who Lifetime Achievement Honoree

July 2024

Marquis Who's Who, the world's premier publisher of biographical profiles, has presented Faye Coleman with the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award. An accomplished listee, Dr. Coleman celebrates many years' experience in her professional network, and has been noted for achievements, leadership qualities, and the credentials and successes she has accrued in her field. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

After earning a Bachelor of Science in sociology from Simmons University in 1968, Dr. Coleman expanded her knowledge by completing a Master of Education in early childhood education at the University of Massachusetts, Amherst. Subsequently, she began her career as a program manager for the Center for Systems and Program Development while pursuing a PhD in education and human development at the University of Maryland. Upon graduating in 1980, Dr. Coleman joined Creative Associates International, Inc. as a group leader, managing a senior leadership team with 15 direct reports.

In the ensuing years, Dr. Coleman founded Westover Consultants, Inc., one of the most highly regarded professional services firms of its size in the Washington DC metropolitan area. As the president and chief executive officer, she guided her team in providing such services as change management, strategic planning, executive leadership development, and behavioral health technical assistance. The firm's clients included civilian government agencies like the National Institutes of Health, the US Departments of Labor, Health and Human Services, and Commerce, as well DoD agencies like the US Air Force, US Army, and US Marine Corps. Most notable was the firm's work providing disaster response assistance and counseling services to hundreds of survivors of Hurricanes Katrina and Rita. The company recruited over 1600 licensed clinicians, including psychiatrists, phycologists, and clinical social workers and deployed them throughout the impacted gulf coast areas of Louisiana, Mississippi, and Alabama. In recognition of this lifesaving work the company received the "Spirit of Recovery Award" from the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration.

After selling Westover Consultants Inc. in 2015, Dr. Coleman launched her current coaching practice, FEC Coaching Enterprises, LLC. As a certified Leadership and Executive Coach, she empowers her clients to clarify their professional and life goals, and to identify and implement actionable strategies that will enable them to accomplish things they previously thought were impossible, with authenticity and agency. Throughout her career, Dr. Coleman has allowed her core values of equity, integrity, and empathy to guide everything she does. In subsequent endeavors, she intends to continue giving back in ways that will make a positive difference to the human condition, both now and in the future.
