Q: Tell us about your background and where you currently work.
I have the honor of serving as President and CEO of American Humane Society, the nation's first humane organization, where we work to ensure the safety, welfare, and well-being of animals worldwide. From rescuing animals in disaster zones to certifying the humane treatment of animals in agriculture, entertainment, and conservation programs, our mission is to rescue, care for and protect those who cannot speak for themselves.

Q: How long have you been an IWF member?
I became a proud member of IWF in 2018.

Q: How has your career benefited from being an IWF member?
I've met extraordinary women from all around the world--brilliant leaders, changemakers, and visionaries who inspire me daily. The connections and conversations within IWF have enriched my leadership journey and expanded my perspective on global issues.

Q: What excites you the most right now?
The global expansion of our work! Global Humane Society, the international arm of American Humane Society, has programs across 59 countries. I'm especially excited to share our plans to expand into India in the year ahead. The opportunity to make a meaningful impact on animal welfare at an international level is truly inspiring.

Q: What are you reading or listening to?
Right now, I'm reading a collection of Yeats' poetry--there's something timeless and profound about his work. I'm also loving Ina Garten's latest memoir which offers insight into resilience and leadership.

Q: Any tips or advice for new members?
Say yes! Attend as many IWF events as you can. The women in this network are not only brilliant but also incredibly supportive and fun. The more you engage, the more you'll gain from this remarkable community.

Q: What do you like most about being a member?
IWF's global conferences are extraordinary. They bring together women from every corner of the world, providing unparalleled opportunities for networking, collaboration, and thought leadership.

Q: Who/what inspires you?
My mother has always been my greatest inspiration. She instilled in me a deep love for animals, which has shaped my life's work. And every day, I'm inspired by the animals we work to protect--their resilience, grace, and ability to connect with us in profound ways.

Q: Do you have any hobbies?
I love Pilates, and I'm hoping to get back into golf. Gardening has also become a passion of mine as we expand American Humane Society's new animal sanctuary's green spaces, creating a healing environment for animals and people alike.

Q: Favorite place you've traveled?
I've had the privilege of visiting nearly 60 countries, and each has left a mark on my heart. Some of my favorite destinations include the Greek Islands, Spain, and Singapore. The cultures, landscapes, and history of these places are simply breathtaking.

Q: What do you hope to accomplish in 2025?
On a personal level, I'm committed to reaching a new fitness goal. Professionally, I'm focused on advancing our Humane 2030 strategic plan--a comprehensive roadmap to protecting animals across the globe. There's so much work to do, and I'm energized by the possibilities ahead!
